Carborane is a kind of cage cluster compound composed of carbon, boron and hydrogen atoms. They have unique three-dimensional aromaticity, excellent thermal stability and chemical stability. These characteristics have made carborane and its derivatives have been widely used. For example, carborane compounds are used as high boron drugs in boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) for the treatment of cancer; they are used as multiple drugs in metal organic chemistry. Variable ligands; used as functional building blocks in supramolecular and nanomaterials; used as electron traps in organic optical materials, etc. Therefore, carborane chemistry has received extensive attention and has developed significantly in the past few decades.
